Horny Queen

Remember the Oriental Hornet hive I posted weeks ago?  Here's the link in case you haven't seen them yet.  And here's one of the pictures.

Well, this morning I saw the queen herself!  It was quite a sight.  One blink and I would have missed it.  But I got used to checking out the hive everytime I get the parking space next to it. So yeah, today's a special day; I get to meet the Queen.

I immediately whipped out my mju840 and started clicking away.  I must admit, my hands were a little shaky, fearing an assault any moment.  It's about 1.5 inch long, that's two third of my pinky!  One sting and God knows how I'll run.  Like a little girl, that's how.

But for the sake of documentation, I pushed my lens up to barely three inches away from that mother and clicked with what's left of my steady grip.   Where's an SLR when you need one...
